Living a Nightmare
Halloween is the one time of year that telling spooky stories and being scared all goes together. Every year, there are thousands of haunted houses set up and they have thousands if not millions of visitors. I have never been a fan of being scared, I suppose I am just not thrill seeker.
What about the homes that are not set up as Haunted Houses; its not Halloween but there are stories told every day about seeing odd things, hearing odd noises and sensing strange things.
This is one of my stories. I do not have any proof, no EVP's or anything else physical, I just have the memories of the home and what I experienced and what other's have experienced.

Is it a Child's Imagination?
And so it begins

As a young child we never lived in one area for very long. Having a stepfather who was a traveling man who was always chasing his dreams; never left much room for setting roots. So basically home was where ever we landed in that moment.
He was offered a job at an electronics store and he found us a really nice home that was not far from the store he was going to work in. We were pretty excited about this house because it was really nice and had a yard in the back with this huge old barn. We believed we actually found a home we would live in for a long while.
When you walked in the front door, you walked into the living room, that lead to the dining room and towards the left of the dining room was an arch hallway that had a bedroom on each side of the bathroom. There was another door in the dining room that lead to the attic. There was a swinging door that lead into the kitchen and a door in the kitchen that lead to the basement.
I have always been a loner so I kept to myself a lot. As I unpacked my belongings I kept noticing this beautiful cherry tree outside my bedroom window. I would open the window just to smell the wonderful scent. But then, almost immediately, I kept feeling like someone in the room with me. Every time I looked behind me to see who it was, there was never anyone there. This happened all the time while I was in the bedroom.
There was something about the cherry tree that I could not move my attention from. The cherry tree was close to our house but it was actually in the yard behind us where an older man lived. I was between 10-11 years old and loved talking to older people. Actually, I would spend my time with older people instead of going outside to play with other children.
For the life of me I could not shake the feeling of never being alone. The bathroom gave me horrible creepy feelings. It was like I would go in there, get done doing whatever I was doing and actually ran of the bathroom to get where other people were.
I remember hating going to bed at night. Since my bedroom was directly across from my mother's, I would not go to bed until I made sure my mother had gone to bed. At night we would hear eerie sounds and of course with the house being old it would settle causing noises and the pipes would bang. But there was something behind those noises. There would also be noises coming from the attic that sounded like wheels rolling across the floor or something. Then I began to see shadows going room to room that was not my mother or stepfather.
Is all of this a child's imagination?

Haunting's are Real
The Signs

Since I could no longer stand to be in the house, I spent a lot of time in the back yard. One particular day, I was sitting by a tree and I looked towards the back door and seen my mother carrying her lunch outside and sitting on the steps. I asked her what was wrong because she was white as a ghost and never came outside especially carrying her lunch.
I knew something was wrong so I kept telling her to tell me what was wrong. She finally began to tell me that she was sitting at the table eating and seen someone walk across the hallway (no one else was in the house). I just stood there looking at her because I know what I had been experiencing.
One night my aunt spent a night with us and she slept in my room. We sat there most of the night listening to the eerie banging sounds, pipes rattling and strange noises in the attic. Needless to say, she never step foot in our house again. The same can be said with other visitors we had, except for one of my stepfathers friends.
One day he came over while my stepfather was at work and I started telling him about the noises and shadows that mother and I had been experiencing. In his next visit he brought over an Ouija Board. Stupid, Stupid, Stupid idea (I know)!!
He began asking if there were spirits in the house and it kept going to yes, he asked other questions but I do not remember what they were. When I told mother she looked shocked and surprised. She and I both knew there was something there so we knew the board was telling the truth. We decided to not mention this to the stepfather so we just sat on the information for a while.
One day I seen the older man that lived behind us and I walked over to the cherry tree and started talking to him. He asked how we were liking the house and so on. I explained at first we loved it, but there are strange things happening. He went on to tell me (yes, a child) that three women had died in that house. A nun had a heartache, another woman died in a kitchen fire, and another lady fell from the attic in her wheelchair. I think I sort of stopped breathing in that moment and ran into the house to tell my mother. She and I sat in the living room waiting for my stepfather to come home.
When he got home from work, we began to tell him everything we were experiencing, what the Ouija Board said, and what the old man said. Come to find out he too had experiences at night. He went on to say that every night this lady dressed in yellow would come and stand by him in the chair he was sitting in. She looked like she had a veil on her face but did not miss a night visiting him.
The chaotic energy continued and the activities became even worst, so not too long after the conversation we had with my stepfather, we moved again.

Conclusion
There will always be haunted houses

It is really hard to put into words the true feelings you have when you experience events like these. Like I said in the beginning, I do not have any proof, I was young and the only things I do have are the memories from the experiences. If I had not experienced things before living in this house, a part of me would have questioned things. But having experiences before, I knew what I experienced and what everybody else experienced in that house was true.
You see on the TV when paranormal investigators go into haunted places, the temperature will drop, you get a heavy feeling and sometimes get light headed-all is true in real life hauntings too. Spirits are not always out to hurt you. I do not believe the three women were out to harm any of us, I do believe they did not like people moving into their home!
