Are You Using the Flickr Gallery Section on Your Leaves?

July 11, 2012

The phrase "a picture is worth a thousand words" might be overused, but still, it's an increasingly valid point in the world of online writing.

Recent breakthroughs in the world of social media have centered around images. Look at Pinterest. The site completely revolves around images, and can be a major traffic source for writers. Instagram has seen a significant increase in popularity just by applying a filter on images you upload.

With all the buzz about Pinterest and Instagram, don't forget about our old friend Flickr. There are millions of photos to browse and feature on your Zujava leaves right on Flickr. All you have to do is search for the appropriate Creative Commons license, which is as easy as clicking "advanced search" and choosing for "commercial use" at the bottom of the page.

To aid with using the Flickr Gallery section, we've put together this tutorial. It will walk you through the process of adding a Flickr Gallery section, finding photos, and featuring them on your leaf. It will take all of five minutes to read and add a Flickr section to your leaf.

Visually, the result of using a Flickr Gallery on your leaf can be stunning. Want to give it a try? Add a section to your current leaves, or start a new leaf here.

P.S. - It might be the perfect opportunity to use the Flickr Gallery section on our new contest announced yesterday. Give it a try!

Zujava writer bill bill
Hi, I'm Bill Nihill, and I am a father, husband, artist, writer and Co-Founder of Zujava.com, the best place to share your personal knowledge, passion, and expertise with the entire world (and make money while doing it!) I have a wide range of interests from music (heavy metal, hard rock, classic rock) to cooking to travelling. My wife and I have been lucky to explore the US by car several times - and we are counting down to our next big adventure, but this time we'll have our two daughters along for the adventure (this is sure to be interesting). In my spare time, what little there is, I enjoy working on my oil paintings which I will share here from time to time. And lastly, welcome to Zujava.com -- glad to see you here!
