How to Get Your Kid Exercising After School

The school bell rings and kids can't wait to get home to turn on their video games and begin playing. Most Kids stay in front of the television all afternoon playing video games and eating snacks. I know many parents who feed their children whatever their children want. If their kids wants Mc donalds everyday they will probably go and buy them just so their kid won't throw a tantrum or keep them happy.

I will list some ways you can get your kids exercising after school and start eating healthy.

Getting Your Kid Into A Sport

See what kind of video games your kid plays

When your kids are playing video games or when they're at school, check what kind of video games your kids are into. If you see your kid likes playing videos games like soccer or football, it's obviously because he likes that certain sport. You can check if their school has that sport as a after school activity, most schools have soccer and football on their extra curricular activities.

If the school doesn't have certain sports you can check your local park. Many parks hold after school activities like soccer, baseball, football, and cheer (for girls). You can sign up your kid for it.

Your kid would probably refuse to be a part of a team if it's the first time they join a sport.

The benefits of getting your kid into their favorite sport: They will make new friends, be more outdoors, earn a positive attitude (exercising improves your mood), they'll be fit.

Helping Your Kid Finding a Sport They'll Like

If your kid is not into sports you can help him find a sport they will like.  If their school has sports help your kid find a sport they will enjoy. Most schools have football, soccer, swimming, basketball, track and field.   Help your kids finding a sport by talking to the coaches and letting  your kid try out or just play for couple of days.

If no sports are available you can also go biking with your kid everyday or just take long walks. During the weekends you can also plan a hike with your family.  Spending time with your child is a good way to have a good communication with them and exercise.

Serve Healthy Foods

When was the last time your kid ate a salad? Salads, don't have to be boring. Many people imagine it lettuce and tomato.  Salads can actually be really delicious! You can start by adding a few fruits and vegetables to the table. Include healthy more healthy snacks in their school lunch boxes.  You can also try to get rid of all the junk you have in your kitchen cabinet.

Instead of whole milk you can purchase low fat milk.  Doing small changes can make a difference. When you make spaghetti you can use whole wheat instead.  Small changes make a great difference and your family's health will improve.
