How to make fairy wings

You will need:

4 wire hangers or wire

pliers

scissors

pink panty hose (if you can't find the color of pantyhose you want, buy white panty hose and die it any color you want or you can paint them once they are on the coat hangers)

pink elastic string you can get at a fabric store or ribbon

pink glitter glue

gemstones

With your pliers straighten all four coat hangers.  For each hanger, bring both ends together and use the pliers to tie them together to make tear drop shapes.  Leave two tear drop shaped wire hangers for the bottom wings. For the top wings use your pliers to make a small bend on the outside center.  You can shape your wings any way you want, if you want pointy wings just pinch the wings at the top and the lower wings at the bottom.  Place all four tear drops shapes together and with your pliers tie all ends together.  Place your pink panty hose over the top of the wing and pull to the end. Cut the excess panty hose and tie to the center wire.  Repeat on all wings.  Measure the elastic ribbon to fit your size, you will need two pieces for each arm and then tie them to the center of the wings.  

There are lots of fun ways to decorate your fairy wings.  I drew swirls with my pink glitter glue pen and glued a pink gemstone to each end.  So the center didn't look too clumpy where all the pantyhose is tied up, I wrapped a glitter fur ribbon around and glued a fabric silver star.
