How to Make Wine Glass Charms
Wine glass charms are little charms that you put on your wine glass so you can tell which glass is yours. They are great for parties and entertaining. They also make nice homemade gifts, party favors and hostess gifts. If you purchase wine glass charms from the store they can cost you as much as $20 a pack. You can save a lot of money by making them yourself. Making wine glass charms is super easy and doesn't require any crafting skills. All you need are a couple of inexpensive supplies from a craft store. Pair a set of your homemade wine glass charms with a set of wine glasses or a bottle of wine and you have a lovely gift for that wine lover in your life.
What You Need To Make Wine Glass Charms
You only need a few items to make wine glass charms.
- Wire hoops, also known as earring hoops (shown on the right in the photo)
- Charms, beads or crystals
- Small needle nose pliers (for turning up the end of the hoop)
I like to use theme charms if I'm making them for a special occasion. For example, if I'm making wine glass charms for a bridal shower I will use wedding theme charms. If I want to personalize the charms with names I will use cube alphabet letter beads to spell out a name. If I'm making wine charms for a sports party I sports theme charms like the ones pictured in the first photo on this page.

Directions for Making Wine Charms
All you need to do is string your charm on the wire hoop and then bend the end of the wire hoop back (upward), creating a latch. That's it! Place the charm around a wine glass and latch the hoop together.
You can also use beads, crystals and spacers to make them more decorative.

You use this tool to turn up the end of the hoop wine, as show in my photos.
These wire hoops make it easy to create wine charms. You just string the charm on the hoop. Since they are earring hoops, it's easy to make earrings with your left over charms.
I use these alphabet charms to make personalized or name charms. You can spell out bride and groom or the names of the bridesmaids for weddings, it's a boy or it's a girl for baby showers and names for hostess gifts and birthday party favors. The ideas are endless!
