Pajama parties are fun theme parties. Who doesn't like a sleepover? When I think of a pajama party I think of food, movies, stories, games, makeovers and lots of laughs. Pajama parties are about fun and friendship. They provide a great opportunity to bond with friends and build lasting memories.
There are 2 types of pajama parties. One involves the guests sleeping over, the other involves the guests showing up in their pajamas but not sleeping over. Planning Your Pajama Party
Here are a few things to consider when planning a pajama party.
The first thing to decide on is if you want a sleepover pajama party or a non-sleepover party pajama party. For a non-sleepover pajama party, ask your guests to come dressed in their pajamas. You can include this request on your invitations.
Next, plan your guest list and order invitations. Be sure to include a "What to bring" list with your invitations (i.e. pillow, sleeping bag). Also provide a pick up time for the next day.
Plan your food and snack menu at least one week in advance. It's always more fun to have snacks that your guests can make or decorate, such as building ice cream sundaes or decorating cupcakes.
As the host you have a responsibility to keep the children safe and to provide a safe environment. Plan activities that are safe and age appropriate. Make sure your prizes and party favors are also age appropriate. Don't let the children outside of the home without adult supervision.
