Here are a few ideas to get you started....
Invitations - You should send your party invitations out at least 3 weeks in advance. This will help to avoid conflict if people are invited to several Halloween parties. Ask your party guests to RSVP so you can plan your party and menu accordingly.
Party Time - A good time to start your party would be a few hours before it starts to get dark. That way your guests can carve their pumpkins while it's still light out and then enjoy their lighted pumpkins when it gets dark.
Pumpkin Carving - Pumpkin carving can be messing so it's probably a good idea to have your pumpkin carving party outdoors. You may also want to put a few tarps or newspaper down where people will be carving their pumpkins. This will make clean up easier. Unless you want to purchase all the pumpkins, you can may want to ask your guests to B.Y.O.P (Bring Your Own Pumpkin). You can also print out stencils or pumpkin carving templates on the Internet for free. It's always fun when the contest involves prizes. Consider giving out prizes for the scariest, funniest and best carved pumpkins.
Decor - Decorate with Halloween, traditional fall or creepy decor.
- Halloween decor are things like decorative pumpkins and lots of black and orange party supplies.
- Traditional fall decor are things like corn stalks, hay and scarecrows.
- Creepy decor are things like spiders and spider webs, skeletons, black crows and other creepy creatures.
Food - Buffets or pot luck work best for a Halloween Pumpkin Carving party. It's always good to add some type of pumpkin dish on the menu. Pumpkin soup, pumpkin bread and pumpkin pie are few suggestion. Add a festive touch to your food table by using Halloween food picks in your food, plastic spiders for table decorations and pumpkins for centerpieces.
Drinks - Pumpkin and spice drinks are great for a Halloween party. You could keep your bottled and can beverages cold in pumpkin ice chests. To make a pumpkin ice chest simply carve out the center of a pumpkin and fill it with ice.
