cooked quinoa
Quinoa has become popular recently, and with good reason.  It is a healthy and low calorie food.  However, some people are not sure how to cook quinoa.  It really is quite simple as I have discovered.  This article will explain how easy it is to prepare quinoa for any meal of the day.Quinoa provides us with protein, fiber, and riboflavin. Since it is a complete protein, it can be used as a meat substitute.  It also is low in calories and does not contain fat like many meats do.  There is no gluten in quinoa either.
Learn How To Cook
by eighties-child
Some of my favourite early childhood memories are of cooking in the kitchen with my mother.  Flour would cover every surface, as well as the floor and the walls if my sisters and I were all involved!  We would assist in every possible dish you could imagine.  All kinds of delicious pies, filled to the brim with succulent meat, or sweet juicy fruits.  Various cakes would create the most amazing smells, and of course would leave us with a spatula to be licked (one of the most enjoyable parts).

My daughter was at a birthday party sleepover a little while ago, and for dinner they had these "pizza grilled cheese sandwiches" and that they were really good.  She was trying to explain how they were cooked, so she was saying that it was pressed in this "thing", and I asked if it was a Panini Pan.  Her head nodded very quickly.
Cooking For One (Or Maybe Two)
by LiteraryMind
Chef --- Cooking For One
At first, it would seem that shopping and cooking for one or two people is a lot easier than cooking for a large family.  I cooked for one for a long time, and now that we are two, a lot of the same problems still exist.    It's hard to offer a variety of different meals while keeping shopping to a minimum so there is no waste.   Fresh produce is a problem as it is often sold in portions that are sized for a big family.Over the years I have learned a few helpful hints that I am going to share with you.

Fall Off The Bone Ribs
by Jolene Belmain
slow roasted pork ribs
I don't know how I lucked out, but the first time I ever made ribs in the oven, they turned out absolutely perfect!  I couldn't have ordered a more moist rack of pork ribs if I went to a restaurant that specialized in ribs.I started out by going onto a recipe site to look up a spice recipe for my ribs.  The thing you should know about me, is that a recipe that I find, never ends up being the same recipe.  I usually look at it and maybe take a couple of things from it and dabble in whatever else I have in my kitchen cupboards.

Tomatoes
Whether it be for pasta or gourmet food, sun dried tomatoes make a fantastic ingredient. I love the fact that sun dried tomatoes contain the same nutritional count with that of fresh tomatoes, and better yet, they contain all that extra texture and taste once the drying process is complete.
No Yeast, No Glaze Cinnamon Rolls
by Lorna
Cinnamon rolls
My daughter asked me to make cinnamon rolls because she saw that we just bought a big jar of ground cinnamon.  I wonder if we have all the ingredients needed.  We have flour, butter, dark brown sugar, milk; but we were missing one important ingredient, the yeast - we don't have yeast!  What  can we use to replace yeast to make cinnamon rolls?  I found out that we can use baking powder instead, it seems like a good idea using baking powder in place of yeast.  My daughter and I were very excited to try this new recipe.

Philippines, land of 7,100 plus islands, diverse in all aspects of society.  People in the Northern part of the Philippines cook differently from people in the South. They called two foods the same name, but they wouldn't be cooked the same way. Most of our cooking style was inherited from the Spaniards, which occupied the Philippines for about 400 years.  Chinese long time presence also plays a big part in our culinary arts.

by Roberta Wilson
White Rice
In many countries rice is more than just a staple part of the diet. In some cultures it's held in such high regard it takes on spiritual power. The tradition of throwing rice at a wedding can be traced to India’s belief that rice has an important link to fertility. Indonesia and Japan even have rice gods. During the New Year, China devotes an entire day to celebrate the rice crop. In some Asian cultures, rice is seen as a link between Heaven and Earth.

If you like to eat rotisserie chicken, you have an easy way to make flavorful, homemade broth. The best part is that it will be virtually free because the broth is made from the parts that you discard after eating the meat from the chicken. Before you serve the chicken, pull the large pieces of meat from the bones and set the bones aside for your broth. Reserve the back, the skin, and any bits or liquid that is in the bottom of the chicken container for making broth. Basically, all the parts you won't eat can be used to make a delicious broth.
