             The capital of Ecuador, Quito, is currently an incredibly popular place for tourists to visit. Also known as the Center of the World, Quito is located almost directly on top of the Equator. Quito is a city with a deep history and immense cultural importance. The historic old town in Quito is a UNESCO World Heritage site with buildings dating from the Spanish conquest.

Brasilia has been the capital of Brazil since 1960, a new city lying on a rolling plateau in central Brazil about 570 miles northwest of the former capital Rio de Janeiro.The idea of moving the capital inland to promote development of the interior originated in colonial times and was written into the 1891 constitution of the newly-formed republic. After prolonged consideration the site was chosen in 1956 at a suitable and healthy spot near the headwater tributaries of the Tocantins, Parana and Sao Francisco rivers.

Bogota

Bogota is the capital and largest city of Colombia in South America, situated in a high mountain basin in the central part of the country about 300 miles north of the equator. At 8,500 feet Bogota lies on a fertile plain below the peaks of the Eastern Cordillera of the Andes Mountains. The peaks of Montserrate and Guadalupe rise on the eastern side of the city.
