Understanding Weight Loss and Fitness - Articles by Amanda Thomas

I'm Not a Doctor

On June 27th 2012 I weighed 352.2 pounds and was struggling. My fiancée was diagnosed with diabetes and I was worried I would be next. I struggled to even walk through the grocery store to do my shopping without stopping for a break. I was unhealthy and I wasn't getting any better. I started my journey to lose 200 pounds.

At the time of writing this I am 23 pounds down. That may not seem like much with my total goal but there has been such a huge change in my health, stamina, and lifestyle.

I'm not a doctor. I'm not a nutritionist. In fact, I'm just a writer who works from home. I DO however, have some experiences that have helped me learn a lot about fitness and weight loss.

That intro picture is me.

A Little More About Me and This Page

I'm all about losing weight the healthy way. I'm not going to starve myself. I'm not going to go on some super strict diet that I'll want to give up on in a few weeks. I want to ENJOY life. I want good health, not just thinness.

Along my journey so far I've learned a lot about good health, nutrition, and fitness. Since I'm a writer for a living I figured why not share what I learn with everyone else? I'm sure my experiences may be able to help someone out there who may have been struggling, just like I was.

Below is a list of articles I've written on the subject. You won't find any "lose 20 pounds in two weeks" promises here. It is all about being a more healthy you and the weight will come off!

I also take requests for articles if there is something you are struggling with. I'd be happy to share any experiences I may have! Just leave a comment.

You can also find me on my Facebook page or on MyFitnessPal.

Here is my progress so far in my journey to lose 200 pounds!
