Phantom of the Opera Party

The Phantom of the Opera first appeared through a syndicated publication from 1909 - 1910 and later as a book by Gaston Leroux. Over the years it has gone in and out of print, but several plays, musicals, and movies have been based on this century old story. The most famous version came by musical composer, Andrew Lloyd Webber in 1986 at the West End Theatre in London. Two years later it appeared on Broadway and now holds the record for the longest running show in musical history and is considered the largest theatrical production ever financially.

Although she wrote many styles of books including non-fiction, plays, and romance novels (under the name Mary Westmacott), her most beloved writings are her detective books and short story collections. She has won numerous awards around the world and is thought to be one of the most published authors ever with her still popular stories selling billions of copies.
