6 Key Factors in Dystopian Fiction
I love dystopian fiction. If I had to choose a single genre that was most interesting to me, I would have to put my finger directly on dystopian fantasy and science fiction. I love the post-apocalyptic feel of these novels, and I read them so quickly that you'd think that they were sustaining me the way that food, water, and air sustain a person.

With the release of the movie today (March 23rd, 2012), The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins is beginning to get quite a bit of attention. For more than a year the media has been all over the stories, and they've been getting quite a bit of press. Now parents are asking whether or not the books are suitable for their teenaged children to read. Personally, I can't blame them for feeling apprehensive.

If you are at all media aware, you've probably heard of The Hunger Games, the phenomenal best selling trilogy by Suzanne Collins and now a major motion picture. Even if you've been paying attention, you might not really know everything that there is to know about the series, and I certainly won't be able to get into everything in one short page. But I would like to give you an idea of what The Hunger Games is, and why I, as an adult in my thirties, really do enjoy it.

The first time that I heard the term "dystopian fiction" it was in association with Stephanie Meyers' science fiction novel The Host. I can't honestly recall whether or not it was a book review, but I was reading a lot of them at the time. The word had me befuddled and lost.
