  • The story of my kittens and FIP

    In January of this year I lost my two furbabies, Casper and my Itty Bitty Boo, within 6 days of each other to what is known as FIP (feline infectious peritonitis), an illness I'd never even heard of until I was forced to face it. I'd already gone through the loss of one of my older boys, Scooter, in May, 2011 at the age of 16 and while it hurt more than I'd ever thought possible, I was at least somewhat prepared for it.

  • Cats! Cats! and More Cats

    People can give you all kinds of reasons not to like cats...they're too independent or they're just plain sneaky.  I love cats. I have 4 and yes, they are independent, but I like that they fend for themselves.  I don't find them to be the least bit sneaky (even though they can pop up where you least expect them) instead I find that they're quiet and resourceful. 

    Jenny is my beautiful little calico.  She was a rescue from a kill shelter in Dixon, Mo. and was about 6 weeks when I adopted her.
