Beautiful Photos and Paintings of Yosemite
It's hard to describe the feeling entering Yosemite National Park for the first time. Pictures alone do not do this park justice, some paintings might. While the videos, photos, and paintings on this page will help recreate the experience, you have to see Yosemite in person in order to fully grasp its splendor. The landscape is drenched in waterfalls, lush meadows, winding brooks, granite walls, soaring mountains, tall conifers, and the gushing Merced River. Geographically, it is distant from other large towns and cities, but still very accessible from most points in Northern California.
Yosemite is located in the High Sierra region of California, east of San Francisco and northwest of Death Valley. If you've never been here, this leaf will give you an idea of what to expect through it's beautiful visuals in the form of pictures, paintings, and videos.

"Valley of the Yosemite"
Albert Bierstadt was one of the most renowned painters of the Hudson River School. His realist renditions of Yosemite are unmatched. The painting above is widely distributed in print form, and is just one of Bierstadt's famous paintings of Yosemite.
